Going into this new year, have you accepted a false position? Are you stuck in a mindset that you know is wrong? Maybe you’ve assumed a position of poverty where your thinking is poor, your work ethic is poor, and you expect nothing less than poor. Maybe you find yourself in a position of excuses where everything that happens in your life is of no fault of your own. Are you stuck in a position of failure, fear, depression, timidity or secret sin? Whatever your position is, here’s the reality: IT’S TIME TO MOVE FORWARD. May God shake you out of that old, well-worn position. It’s time to move into a new position, a new future!
Now you might be asking, how do I move forward into new beginnings? God makes it easy: follow the Presence of God and the Presence people (a.k.a. His Church).
The Presence of God
In ancient times the Presence of God resided in the Ark of the Covenant and only certain chosen priests called, Levites, could carry the Spirit of God. But now, because of Jesus’ death on the cross, the same Spirit rests in you. You are the chosen people, a royal priesthood. You are a holy nation, the living Levites. When you become a Christian, God imparts His Holy Spirit to your soul. He speaks to your Spirit. He warns you, convicts you, and corrects you. If you want to move forward just listen to that still, small voice. He has never wrongly directed anyone in all of eternity.
The Presence People
Secondly, follow people of His Presence. Be honest, what kind of people are you aligning your trajectory with? If you have been positioned in poverty all these years, you need to find some Presence people who have walked their way out of that thing. If your marriage is terrible find some Presence people. Crews are the best place to start. Find one that will help shake you out of that old position and bring you into His new promises.
God’s Presence will bring you to new places. He’s got an adventure for you. He wants to re-position you for the future, now, and even into eternity.
C.S. Lewis said, “There are far, far better things ahead than those we leave behind.”
Today is a day of new beginnings.
