Jesus comes into impossible situations and turns them around. When we’re expecting a funeral procession, He blows us away with a festival celebration. Death turns into life; hopelessness becomes faith; loneliness finds community. In the midst of mourning and confusion, we can expect a miracle.
“Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain. His disciples and a large crowd went along with Him. As He approached the town gate, a deceased person — the only son of his mother, and she was a widow – was being carried out of the gate. A large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, His Heart went out to her and He said, ‘Don’t cry.’ Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on and the bearers stood still. He said, ‘Young man, I say to you, get up!’ The deceased man sat up and began to talk and Jesus gave him back to his mother. They were all filled with awe and praised God. ‘A great prophet has appeared among us,’ they said. ‘God has come to help his people.’ This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country.”
Luke 7:11-17
No matter what situation you find yourself in, know that Jesus is approaching. And He always arrives on time! Today, He’s on His way with mercy and compassion. He knows your situation inside and out and when He arrives to the funeral march, the entire procession takes a U-Turn. The cries of the people become the praises of the people and the Word of God spreads.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Philippians 4:6
We’re believing for a church that encounters Christ and leads the way. We’re believing for passionate worship every week and the passionate rescue of the Lost. We’re believing for a church that cares for each other in true Community.
So the question is: What are you believing for Jesus to do in your situation this year?
