“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
[2 Timothy 1:7]
As a Christian you know there is a constant battle between the flesh and spirit. You desire faith but for some reason base your decisions on fear. Our lives automatically want to align with fear. Revival produces a fearless faith, an unstoppable nature, made possible because the Holy Spirit is unstoppable and it’s rooted in him.
“The Holy Spirit is greater than any spirit that will ever try to overwhelm you.”
FEARLESS:
When Elisha was confronted by Aramean troops, enemies of Israel, his servant reacted in fear and Elisha prayed that his eyes would be opened (2 Kings 6:15-17). Although they were surrounded by a great army, Elisha was able to see that the army of God was there to defend him and His army was greater. In Elisha’s response we see an example of great faith that sees beyond the natural circumstance and limitations into the supernatural reality and truth, that “there are more on our side than on theirs!”
So although you may find yourself confronted on all sides by overwhelming circumstances, know that there are more angels in heaven for you than there are demons against you. Walking out this truth is a lifestyle, a process of faith that starts by going to the Master. Make the first person you ever go to be the Master. The Holy Spirit is greater than any spirit that will ever try to overwhelm you. Opposition is an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to flex his muscles and show you that he is for you, loves you and will never leave you. With God on your side, whom shall you fear?
FAITH:
To those who are not awakened, faith always sounds irresponsible, foolish. Your friends or family may not understand your faith, but the supernatural is as real as the natural. We are called to live in faith not fear. Beware of fear presented as worldly wisdom or advice. Choose faith over fear even when it looks foolish.
So, what if faith looks weird, or makes you uncomfortable? Sometimes God does odd things. If He’s fully understandable and fits in a box in our mind how can he be a great God? We need to understand that faith is not natural, it’s supernatural!
You might be in this place where you’re in the process of awakening and your vision is still blurry like the blind man of Bethsaida who Jesus healed by spitting on his eyes (Mark 8:22-25). His vision was still blurry after the first time Jesus spit on his eyes, so Jesus placed his hands on his eyes again and then the blind man could see clearly. We need to keep coming to the Master and allowing Him to work on us. Then we will begin to operate more and more in faith than fear.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
