Don’t Miss the Miracle

Bartimaeus was a blind man that could be found on the streets of Jericho.  He was in need of a miracle but had no idea where to turn to receive one.  One day, everything changed; he heard that Jesus was coming and immediately began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Even though this man could not see Jesus coming, he heard that He was on His way.

This is an example of how we should approach Jesus when it comes to our own miracles.  You may not see the answer to your situation, but you’ve heard of Jesus coming through for others, and He will come through for you too.

Here are 3 ideas to keep in mind when asking for a God-sized miracle:

It’s your approach that counts

Sometimes our situations try to silence us from crying out to Jesus. However, your need is actually what sets you up to receive a miracle from Him.  You can choose to cower and victimize yourself or you can choose to lift your voice above the noise.

Cry out all the more

When you cry out to Jesus, don’t be discouraged if others try to rebuke you or tell you to quiet down. Even the thoughts in your head can try to rationalize your way out of your miracle.

But it takes desperation to continue to cry out to Jesus until He touches you.  And when He finally he does, the other voices will hush in awe.

Keep on believing

Seeing the man’s faith, Jesus stopped and turned towards Bartimaeus and called him.  He immediately sprang up, threw off his cloak and ran to Jesus. Jesus then asked Bartimaeus what is that he wanted and he replied, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.”

Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

Your faith is what compels Jesus to act in your situation.  It’s easy to lose faith when you’ve been struggling in the same place for so long, with seemingly no way out.

Even when you think Jesus is far away or hasn’t heard your cry, He’s heading your way.

Jesus is not distant or disinterested, He is walking towards your need.

Don’t miss the miracle.
