Blessed to be a Blessing

“Now I will rescue you and make you both a symbol and a source of blessing.”                      -Zechariah 8:13

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, something supernatural happens in us. We no longer walk in the natural realm, but rather in the spiritual realm. As such, we don’t represent ourselves; we represent God. And when we begin to embrace our roles as Christ’s ambassadors, His blessings well up in us and overflow into the lives of those around us like streams of living water (John 7:38). We begin to give no longer out of obligation, but from a heart that has experienced the abundant goodness of God.

We have been richly blessed by God, not for our own selfish agendas but for the glory of God. We glorify God when we credit Him with our success and worldly gains, rather than our own abilities. And we’ve been called to share these blessings with others and to generously give away the grace that God has poured out on us. Jesus fills us up so that we may be spilled out.

People are looking for something constant in a world that is so inconsistent. As followers of Christ, we have the capability to represent consistency, as well as inspire others to do good deeds through our own words and actions. God saved us so we would serve as examples to others of His love and mercy.

The Bible makes it clear that God desires to give us good things – both spiritually and physically. God blesses us on purpose and for a purpose; He’ll never give us something unless He expects us to use it. Unfortunately, there are so many Christians waiting until they get to heaven to receive the blessed life that God is ready and willing to give them right here and right now!

The Kingdom of God operates by faith and our faith speaks volumes to people. Hopes, dreams and desires are God-given. Let’s choose to step into an active faith of living the blessed lives that God intended for us. We are Inspired for His glory, and blessed to be a blessing.
